BHRP Email 2

Buongiorno Hippie Project!!!!

(I wrote this email yesterday but was tired and forgot to hit send)

An amazing Sunday to all who read this and all who do not.

Given it is the Lord’s day, I will relay a small story.

-Miami’s Childhood Tale-

I started working video at a church cause a friend of mine told me to help him volunteer one day. I worked there for three years, and it became a sizable part of my life and memories; I had gone there every Sunday and special event that needed it. It gave me cash to buy weed; it had become another home. In that small First United Methodist Church (which has one of the largest organs in South Florida), left of the entrance, up a flight of stairs, behind the sound booth, and inside the light switch room, in the corner, behind a box, there is a folded-up piece of paper with 15-year-old me’s dreams and wishes. I talk about where I’ve been and who I’ve known; I ask if I’m still with this girl (it did not work out). I signed and dated it, leaving my email so anyone who finds it can reach out and remind me of that time I had left a piece of myself at that church. Maybe someone will find that piece of paper and remind me of who I was then. I tell this tale to help inspire similar leavings of self by all of you. It does not need to come in the form of a note; it could be in the emotions you leave a person; it could be a scratch on the wall. Humans are too fickle, and like dust, swept by the winds of time and our own concerns; cementing ourselves through a mark does more than to say we were once there, it is to say you still change wherever it may be, and that you aren’t as bound to space and time as you may think.

Current BHRP Plans

We are trying to host a community event soon with live music, a marketplace, and more.

How can you help make this a reality?

Do you have instruments? Do you make art or other things and want to sell? Is there something else you have always wanted to do in the hosting of a party?

Want to just come? Fill out this form:

FORM

Art:

This week’s art piece comes from Sac Town’s Matty Davis:

Total Anarchy

This is a short film with true creative genius. The heart of making movies (in my opinion) is a love of entertaining. Through its cruder cinemotragraphic stylings, non-existent set budget, and on-the-nose writing, this high school short film goes beyond most, providing the viewer with a silly, yet powerful tale warning about the dangers of imperialism and the struggle against it.

ADVERTISMENT:

If you would like to ever help with this organization or provide some writing for the letter, I am more than happy to speak with you and to get it done right away.

Prayer:

We are starting this week off strong, GO BEARS! The juices of our hearts will pump stronger than a lion’s; WE ARE BEARS! The forest will fall to our axes, WE ARE TREE KILLERS!

HAVE A HIPPIE DAY!
